Been coming here for years and love the food. They have always been willing to add extra vegetables to my sweet sour chicken and serve the sauce on the side. Mmmm love it :)

Best Chinese restaurant in the Dayton area. They have numerous offerings and offer dine-in, drive-thru, carryout, & delivery. The restaurant is clean and the food is very good. Some of our favorite menu items are the Sweet & Sour Chicken, fried rice, Wonton Soup, Crab rangoon, and egg/spring rolls. Servers are always attentive & friendly.

You know that feeling where you've been driving for a while, skipped lunch, and have a hankering for Americanized Chinese food? Well I did. This place had awesome food. 5/5. The service was fast and excellent. They did have the occasional box stored in the aptly decorated eating room, but it was no big deal. The food was exactly what you imagine. Big plates, saucy covering, excellent broccoli, great white rice. The sesame chicken was particularly tasty.

I am always on the quest for Wor Shu Gai. A couple of years ago, I read that people are now calling it ABC Chicken for Almond Boneless Chicken. This place had ABC Chicken. When it came to the table, it looked nothing like how I know this dish. I signaled the waiter over and inquired. I also showed him a picture of what Wor Shu Gai looks like...aka ABC Chicken. He recognized the picture immediately and said that I had ABC Chicken and they can make War Shu Gai. He quickly swapped the plates and I was happy like the Happy Family dish my family got. Everything was great.

I had the hankering for Asian-American food today and I found Yen Ching House in Edgemont, OH. Today was also one of the first times I have sat down in a restaurant to eat in a long, long time. When I am on the road, I tend to be a take out junkie but I am trying to get out more and see something other the four walls of my hotel room! Yen Ching House is a place of off U.S. 40 in Edgemont. It is a small, unassuming place that is decked out in a style that is common for all "Chinese" restaurants in China and most in the U.S.. Lots of Oriental art, graphics, and that ubiquitous deep mahogany red tones run though out the place. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly and professional. It wasn't busy when I arrived so I was quickly seated and my order was taken almost as quick. As is the case with most "Chinese" restaurants, my food was sat in front of me in no time and I dug in. Today I ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch combination. It comes with you choice of fried or steamed rice, and your choice of Hot & Sour, Egg Drop, Wanton, and something called a Chicken Creamy soup. Today I went with fried rice and Egg Drop soup. You also receive a crab rangoon, and you have the choice of honey chicken. I am not too sure what they exactly mean by that but it is an option. My plate was filled with an ample amount of food and I knew I would be taking my leftovers with me for dinner. The General Tso's Chicken at Yen Ching House reminds me of the style of General Tso's that used to be served years ago. Most places that serve General Tso's make the sauce so sweet that it makes your teeth ache. The sauce on mine was not overly sweet, and had a crunch that I had not had in a while. I also noticed the dried red chillies that "Chinese" food here is known for and another thing I haven't seen in a while. The chilis gave the dish a nice kick. The chicken inside was moist and cooked very well. The fried rice was... okay. Not the best I have had but certainly not the worst. I can't tell you about the crab rangoon because it is in the take out container that is resting comfortably in the fridge in my hotel room, waiting to be eaten for dinner. Since I knew I was going to take leftovers with me, I ordered a side of steamed rice and an egg roll. Yen Ching House also makes their own Chinese hot mustard! I haven't had Chinese hot mustard in a very long time. Most places give you those packets of hot mustard which really aren't hot and don't really resemble mustard. My mouth is watering just thinking about the hot mustard and I think I am going to dive in to my leftovers as soon as I am done with this review! Yen Ching House is very deserving of the 4 1/2 stars they have on Yelp. The restaurant is clean, the staff awesome, the prices very good, and food good. If you find yourself in the Edgemont area, Yen Ching House is a short distance of of I-70 on U.S. 40. Why don't you stop and give it a try?

Dining experience was perfect in every way. This is a charming and traditional Chinese sit-down restaurant with table service - comfortable seating, booths available, lanterns, Fortune Cats, ornate ceiling, and soothing Oriental instrumental music playing. Pretty tableware. Warm plates! There was one server on the floor who doubled as the hostess. When we dined, there were I believe four other couples or trios plus one table of six. She did a great job taking care of everyone. Started with steamed dumplings that were tender and comforting. We did the $3 addon to the entree to get soup, an eggroll and a crab rangoon along with it. Loved the wonton soup, generous portion with four nice small wontons, appropriate for eating with a spoon. Crab rangoon was one of the best I ever had and the eggroll was very good too and not one of those little tiny ones. Of course little pots of hot mustard and duk sauce were brought out along with fresh crispy noodles. I had the Szechuan Beef, requesting that the chef go light on the broccoli and that's what was done. It was a spicy dish though not as hot as you might expect for Szechuan. Here's where we zoomed into the five star zone: I requested hot chili oil and received some right away! I almost cried with joy. Have not seen hot chili oil since dining at upscale Chinese in New York. It was perfectly flaming hot and I could enhance my dish as desired. My husband had the house combination "No. 1" and while we agreed the scallops and shrimp textures were below average, the chicken was great and so was the spicy brown sauce along with delightful baby corn and snow peas aplenty. Prices were quite reasonable, and no charge for a nice pot of tea or for the chili oil. When we were too full to eat anymore, our kind waitress took care of putting the leftovers into a takeout box, cementing the five star experience for all time. Looking forward to returning soon.

This place has been here for many years. I used to come here a long time ago. I've moved away and been gone for many years so imagine my surprise when we came back to visit and it was still there. I have been talking about Empress Chicken forever, but it was no longer on the menu. Guess what? They still make it if you ask. Day officially made. The service is incredible. Fast and the prices are good. The food is better than you expect. The chicken is actually breaded and crispy, although it's covered in sauce. Now that's tricky! It's every bit as good as it's always been, if not better!!
